1. The introduction
I will start by introducing accident caused by students and children's internet game addiction, like ;
Last 3.2011 one high school students who had trouble with his parents because of internet game commited suicide when he had a high school entrance ceremony.
Also, I will mention the propotion of teenagers internet game addiction and emphasize the seriousness of korean students game addiction
- According to Wee Center research, 57% korean teenagers do internet game while other countries like taiwan and singapore have 18.1% and 4% of students who do internet game.
So the governmnet think they have to regulate teenagers doing computer game, expecially at midnight to prevent them from game addiction. Therefore they made a law called 'shutdown law'
Lastly, I want to end it by 'However, that law has many bad side effects. Thus, I think Shutdown law should be abolished.
2. The narration
First, I will explain the standard of game addiction(because someone can say I'm not an addiction even though he is really addicted at it, and it can assure how many game addiction people in Korea.), what is the 'Shutdwon law' and what is the exact purpose of it. Also I will summarize my research about what are the abd things and good things
3. The confirmation
I will display three claims that will support my thesis
1. Not efficient way to protect them from internet game addiction

My topic : Shutdown law is unnecessary in Korea
What I hope to learn from this source
I wanted to know about the efficiency of shutdown law, after it came into force.
Notes
1. The legislation is meant to address the increasing rate of online gaming addiction and although it originally targeted MMORPGs, all online genres and platforms are currently affected -- at least on paper, anyway
2. Many kids log in to an account owned by their parents or another adult, according Maemi, a young panelist.
3. Many experts said it is not effective because they log in to other ways, thus they have to find and show other effective way to protect children from game addiction.
Final thought : After the law enforced, there were no effective results of protecting children from addiction. But the government try to do more regulation. I think we have to stop the government's attemps of more regulations because they are not effective way.

My topic : Shutdown law is unnecessary in Korea
What I hope to learn from this sources :
I wanted to learn about the impacts of game industry by shutdown law. Also the opinions from experts and Supporters of shutdown law.
Notes
1. There will be no immediate impact, and When taking into consideration that those aged 18 or under account for 28.9 percent of online gamers those aged under 16 represent less than 20 percent. The number of those in the age group playing between midnight and 6 a.m. will be even less (said Jung Woo-chul, an analyst at Mirae Asset Securities.)
2. Shutdown law increase the management costs for game companies
( They will have to increase servers to store personal information, check users aren’t stealing someone else’s identification and strengthen security. )
3. It can impact to export games because it can cause harmful images to Korean games
4. Shutdown law supporters insist that it can protect children from addiction almost 100 percent and they have to extend the scope of age.
Final thought : Before the shutdown law came into force, many experts say it will not immediatly impact to game industry. So I think I have to find some materials about the impacts of game industry after the shudwon law came into force. And I think the supporters of shutdown law don't care about huge game industry situation.

My topic : Shutdown law is unnecessary in Korea
What I hope to learn by this source
I wanted to learn about bad influences of shutdown law more specifically.
Notes
1. It is equal to treat gaming as alcohol or drug.
2. The problems of addictive behavior is not a falut of games.
3. Students don't have much free time in country, and they frequently use games to cope with school-related stress.
4. parental influence is a key factor to game addiction . A broken home, or parents who just don't understand gaming, may lead to imbalanced children who don't know when to stop playig and star interacting with other people. -So the legal restrictions could be useful as a form of large-scale experiment in fighting compulsive behavior, but the critics believe that it's smarter to get parents playing a bigger role in their kids' lives.
Final thought
The game addiction is not a problem of game itself, but their environment such as less free time and parental influence. Thus even though the government prevents anyone under 16 from playing between midnight and 6AM, the real cause of game addiction cannot resolve.

What I hope to learn from this source :
More informations about what are the bad impacts of shutdown law in korea (Other side effects because of shutdown law). Finding new sources about the influence of shutdown law in Korea online game industries.
Notes
1. Shutdown law : the law that passed on may , 19, 2011. The purpose is to protect children under aged 16 from addicted to internet game by forbiding those to play internet games from midnight to 6.a.m
2. When I heard about this first time, I thaught it is great because it can protect young children from playing the internet game at night time.
3. According to the article, Korea is a haven for gamer but some accidents occured becuase of addiction of game.
4. However shutdown law has some problems especially about freedom of expression.
Final thought : Nowadays, a lot of teenagers do internet games so much and so many children are addicted to it. Therefore several years ago, the governmnet in South Korea made a law called shutdown law to forbid children under aged 16 to play internet games from midnight to 6 a.m.
When I heard about this first time , I thaught it is great because it can protect young children from playing the internet game at night time. However, because of this law, not only a lot of people and game industries are damaged but also other side effects come out. Thus I decided to do this for my topic !
